The Time Brothers have been playing and creating music together since 2011. One of the brightest acoustic duos in root music today, the Time Brothers supply a dose of beautifully strange magic to everything they touch. Since the arrival of their debut album October (2021), the musical duo has been playing high spirted shows in the southeastern Pennsylvania area.
The Brothers were co-founders of the psychedelic jam band Blind Ellis, who found time between many live performances in the Harrisburg/ Baltimore area to release two albums of original music. Their self-titled debut album Blind Ellis was released in 2013. The second album Beggers & Outlaws was released in 2014. The band was praised for its diverse, creative jams, well-constructed original music and poetic lyricism from song writers Jim Grinnen and Matthew Wurst.
Matthew Wurst and Jim Grinnen both hail from Pennsylvania, though growing up on different sides of the state. Over the last decade of making writing and developing original music together have led to a tight and dynamic musical partnership. “We’re a little bit of yin and yang,” said Wurst. “We come from different perspectives. We both have our strengths and weaknesses. We know our roles. Jim comes from a more folk acoustic, rock & roll background with a heavy dose of psychedelic inspiration, and I come from a more classic jam, hit you in the boo-boo sort of style when it comes to the way I approach music. I think we gel pretty well together.”
The Time Brothers have built a strong presence in their music scene. Performing over the years in Baltimore and eastern Pennsylvania has offered the Time Brothers a diverse range of experiences and the duo has perfected their stage presence with lively performances that captivate audiences.
