An evening of music with the Matt Calvetti Trio (Ketan Bakrania on percussion and Tom Demagall on bass), The New Mingle, and maybe even a mini-reunion set from the band ouve after nearly 20 years.
Matt Calvetti is a Pittsburgh-based musician playing primarily instrumental music. He has played and performed in various bands/projects since the late ’80s, and is currently a member of The New Mingle, and The Westsylvanians.
Along with his full-length release Years, The DADAAD EP, and The Matt Calvetti Trio EP ‘3’, Matt has appeared on recordings by The New Mingle, The Westsylvanians, ouve, Ouve Azzy Runk, Rhapsodic, and Flexible Collective. He has also served as Music Director for several productions with Pittsburgh Shakespeare in the Parks. His first band in the ‘Burgh was Yellow Chair Smith, the backing band from a funk musical he also composed and authored.
